Are Online Piano Lessons as Effective as In-Person Classes?
For 1:1 teaching, yes. The teacher sees the keyboard and both hands on camera, hears every note, and can stop and correct in real time exactly as they would in a room. What online lessons remove is travel, not teaching. What matters far more than the medium is whether the lesson is live, individual, and structured, and every Kraga lesson is all three.
What Age Can a Child Start Piano Lessons?
From age 5, provided the child can sit and focus for a short session. Children between 5 and 7 usually do best with 30-minute lessons and shorter, more frequent practice at home. The trial class is the honest test: if a child is not ready yet, we will say so rather than sell you lessons.
Do I Need a Piano at Home, or Is a Keyboard Enough?
A digital keyboard is enough to start. For the first year, look for at least 61 keys and, ideally, touch-sensitive keys so volume responds to how hard you play. Students on keyboards follow the same curriculum and can sit the same graded exams. We will tell you honestly in the trial class when an upgrade is worth making.
How Are the Online Classes Conducted?
Lessons run live over Zoom or Google Meet at a fixed weekly time in your local time zone. You need a keyboard or piano, a device with a camera, and an internet connection. The camera is placed so the teacher can see your hands and the keys. After every lesson you receive written practice notes.
How Long Does It Take to Learn to Play the Piano?
With one live lesson a week and 15 to 20 minutes of practice on most days, a complete beginner reads notation in both hands and plays two Grade 1 pieces from memory within about three months. A first graded exam is realistic from around six months, depending on age, practice, and the grade being entered.
How Much Do Lessons Cost?
Lessons are sold as session packs of 24 or 48 live 1:1 sessions, priced separately for India and international students. Exam entry fees are paid directly to Trinity or ABRSM and are never part of the lesson fee. Full pricing is on the pricing page, and nothing is payable before the free trial class.
